United
Way Receives 2007/08 Corporate Donation from ConocoPhillips
Right to left are:
ConocoPhillips Ponca City Site Lead Executive and Refinery Manager-Ron
Armstrong, Audrey Allen, Helene Schwartz and Jana Krottinger, 2008-2009
ConocoPhillips campaign chair and United Way board member.
Under the backdrop of
the Ponca City Refinery, Helene Schwartz, United Way executive director
takes the generous hand of 2007-08 ConocoPhillips campaign chair and
United Way board member Audrey Allen after receiving the ConocoPhillips
corporate check for the 2007-2008 campaign.
Through the hard work and creativity of the ConocoPhillips campaign
cabinet, employees kept the fun in fundraising, while helping make Ponca
City a better place to live. At least 100 volunteers throughout the
complex worked on the United Way Centennial parade, special events, and
intranet auction to meet and exceed their site-wide fundraising goal.
“ConocoPhillips
corporate donation added to the generosity of its employees and retirees
during the 2007-2008 United Way campaign brings the total raised to over
$390,000 for the community, says Schwartz. ConocoPhillips comprises
50.5% of the total United Way funds raised for 2008. “Without the
‘pulling together’ of ConocoPhillips employees, retirees and corporate,
many of our agencies would close their doors. They are a vital link to
helping meet the needs in our community and to our campaign success”.
