ConocoPhillips and Contractor Services
Golf Tournament
The United Way of Ponca City and its member agencies
were true winners in the first ConocoPhillips and
Contractor Services Golf Tournament. The golf
tournament held Friday, June 17th at Lew Wentz Golf
Course included teams from the ConocoPhillips Ponca
City Refinery and Contract personnel working at the
facility. Living and Working United the group
raised over $34,000 for Ponca City United Way.
“This was the first year we hosted the tournament”
stated Chris McCann, ConocoPhillips employee and one
of the event organizers, “but we hope to make this
an annual event.” Melissa Young, United Way
Executive Director and members of her staff were on
hand to help ensure the days outing went smoothly.
“We could not have asked for a better turn out than
we had for this tournament. Every golfer left with
some type of prize or goody bag and at the end of
the day those, in our community needing help,
benefitted. I cannot thank ConocoPhillips and the
Contract Groups who work with and in the refinery
enough for this generous gesture” said Melissa.
