2019 Volunteer Tax Assistance Site

To help ensure that Kay County’s working families are filing for the tax credits they have earned and to help families save in filing fees, the United Way of Ponca City Financial Stability Initiative is again operating a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site. Families who make a household income of less than $54,000 can access the VITA site and have their taxes prepared for free. Vita site team members are Barbara Nickles, site coordinator, Kelli Dollarhide, tax preparer and quality reviewer and Jack Rawlins, quality reviewer. United Way will start taking appointments on January 26th and the VITA site will open on February 4th.

Items to prepare to bring:

Driver’s License/State ID of Taxpayer & Spouse
Social Security Cards and date of birth - of taxpayer/spouse & dependent’s that will be claimed on tax return. Taxes will not be prepared if ALL social security cards are not present.
Last year’s tax return
Any relevant income documents such as:
W-2
1099 R, Social Security Statement, 1099 - INT - Bank interest, 1099 - DIV - Investment dividend, 1098 - T - Tuition & Scholarship Statement, 1099 - Unemployment Statement
Mortgage Interest Statement/Real Estate Taxes Paid
Insurance forms
For direct deposit of refund bring banking information (account/routing numbers)
*For married filing jointly, both parties should be present*
*No more than 5 W2G’s
